Native Texas Boardwalk

The Native Texas Boardwalk is a living outdoor classroom. This elevated walkway was planted with native species growing on the east side and nonnative species growing on the west side. There are thirteen educational stations for children along the way, such as a hollow log, speaking tubes, and balance beams.

The Boardwalk provides a quick and shaded pathway from the northern gardens (Fuller and Garden Center) to the southern ones (Rose, Perennial, Trial, and Japanese gardens).

In spring of 2024, the boardwalk will be managed by goats. You heard right! Check out the project page for more information about our first attempt at using goats for land habitat management.
