Our Art in the Garden tour meets in the Leonard Courtyard on the first Saturday of most months, 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
This is a lively, interactive tour with a relaxed pace. Informative docents explain how the art pieces in the garden have been placed to enhance the landscape. Free with FWBG|BRIT membership or Garden admission*. This is a weather-proof tour – rain or shine, you’re in for an interesting time.

Availability: First-come, first-served. Up to 15 guests per date.
Join knowledgeable docents for a guided tour of our beautiful Japanese Garden. Enjoy lovely vistas while docents discuss design elements, history, and the cultural significance of Japanese gardens. Plants and animals found in the garden are also discussed.
Tour length: 75 to 90 minutes – docents will modify the tour to suit the guests.
Terrain: Mildly uneven paths and stairs.
Group size: Groups of up to 60 guests are welcome.

Enjoy learning more about selected artworks with a docent. Learn about the history behind special works of art in the Garden.
Tour length: 60 minutes – docents will modify the tour to suit the guests.
Terrain: Mildly uneven terrain, inclines, stone, paved pathways, grassy areas.
Group size: Groups from two up to 15 guests are welcome.

There are more than 1,800 species in the genus Begonia. The Botanic Garden collection contains over 350 species and over 600 hybrids, making it the largest begonia collection in North America. In 2015, the FWBG became the first botanic garden in Texas to receive accreditation for its begonia collection through the Plant Collections Network and currently has the only accredited begonia collection in the nation.
Tour length: 45 to 60 minutes – docents will modify the tour to suit the guests.
Terrain: Flat, even ground, some gravel paths, not wheelchair-accessible
