Compost Outpost
The Compost Outpost is a self-guided, outdoor demonstration area that shows visitors how easy it is to compost at home. The site features a variety of compost bins that range from inexpensive and homemade to elaborate and available for retail purchase.
You can watch Fort Worth Master Composter volunteers working the compost piles live on most Friday mornings, subject to weather and holidays.
7:30 AM – 11:00 AM (Spring/Summer)
8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Fall/Winter)
Prepared in cooperation with the North Central Texas Council of Governments through funding from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The Compost outpost is an educational facility — not a place to pick up or drop off compost materials. Informational signs throughout the garden allow for self-guided tours.
