Our Armchair Botany events are forums for presentation and discussion about botany, herbarium specimens, and collections – and an invitation to get involved!
Join us on Thursday, June 13 at 12 PM CT via Zoom for a presentation by herbarium staff about Mapping the Plants of Texas. The BRIT Herbarium, along with other herbaria in the Texas Oklahoma Regional Consortia of Herbaria (TORCH), received a National Science Foundation grant to digitize millions of specimens collected in both Texas and Oklahoma. This project is now at the final stage of digitization – georeferencing! Ashley Bales will share georeferencing updates, as well as current protocols and how to get involved.
