Armchair Botany Forum – All Asia TCN: The People Behind the Plants
This event has now passed. To view the recording, please visit our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/WwonNDaKcGs
Our Armchair Botany events are forums for presentation and discussion about botany, herbarium specimens, and collections – and an invitation to get involved!
Join us Thursday, December 14th at noon via Zoom, for this the last forum of 2023 presented by Herbarium Digitization Technician for our recently awarded NSF All Asia TCN grant, Craig Meyer. Craig will share information about this project and dive into the stories of the botanists behind the specimens collected in the herbarium from across the Asian continent!
We’ll start off this forum by opening the floor for any comments and/or questions folks have about our current Crowdsourcing project. Then we’ll jump into the discussion about our main topic for the meeting. We’ll end with more Q&A and a guided “transcription blitz” where we’ll show you how to pull data from herbarium specimen images on your own time, to make your own discoveries and help us bring these collections to light. Please feel free to jump in, whether it’s your first or dozenth time! You can see more about the Armchair Botanist program here
