24-Form Tai Chi
This event is sold out – click here to join the waitlist. Explore Food & Wellness for more upcoming events!
Come join us for our newest wellness series—Tai Chi! Tai Chi is an ancient practice consisting of low-impact, slow-motion movement. The movements are intentional and meditative, improving muscle strength, flexibility, balance and aerobic conditioning. In this fun, no-judgment class, you will learn 24 different poses of Tai Chi, known traditionally as “forms,” and how to incorporate gentle movement into your life. Sessions will be held on the Moon Viewing Deck, surrounded by Japanese Maples in our tranquil Japanese Garden. Before and after class, explore the Gardens at your leisure; registration includes Garden admission for the day.
Registration includes a series of 6 sessions – October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and November 6. This class takes place on Mondays. We will meet at the entrance to the Japanese Garden. If a session is canceled due to inclement weather, a make-up session will be scheduled.
Mondays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and November 6 (3:00 – 4:00 pm)
Registration Deadline: September 29
$70 /Non-Member or $65 /Member
Instructor: Edwina Taylor’s yoga journey began at retirement in 2014, when she found she needed more than daily walking to increase flexibility and balance. Since then, she has completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and taught Sundance Square’s Sunset Yoga Series and MINDSET, among other venues. Her focus is yin and restorative poses.
Location: Check-in at the Japanese Garden – park in Lot D.
Inclement Weather Plan: Registrants will be notified the day before the scheduled class when a make-up session must be scheduled.
**An email with program details will be sent to all registrants the day after the registration deadline. To help avoid this important communication being mislabeled as junk mail, please whitelist the fwbg.org domain with your email provider.
