Recovered wood is the eco-friendly lumber of choice because it saves trees from being harvested for wood. There are two types of recovered wood that can be used to create beautiful projects. One is wood salvaged from existing structures such as old buildings and barns. The other, like that used in BRIT’s sinker cypress wall, is “blown down” wood or “recovered” wood harvested from trees that have been toppled in storms or recovered from a river bottom. More recovered wood is available now that buildings are being deconstructed instead of being sent to a landfill.
