Starting Your Garden from Seed

Seed starting can be an intimidating venture for new gardeners. Following several best practices can increase the likelihood of success. In this class, we will discuss the basics of seed starting and how to build confidence in using various propagation techniques. Both direct seeding into the field and seeding for transplant production will be covered. Enjoy the variety that comes with growing with seeds!

Instructor: David Cole is currently the Learning Lab Manager and an adjunct faculty member for the Horticulture program at Tarrant County College (TCC), where he has been for six years. David has worked in Texas agriculture for over 20 years in a diversity of fields, including: organic farming; sustainable agriculture training and education; landscape horticulture; landscape irrigation; urban farming/community gardening; livestock and forage production; and prairie restoration. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Soil and Crop Science.
