Native Bee Homes

Registration for this class is now closed. We hope to see you for another Botany & Nature class soon!

Who are our native bees? How may we encourage these important ecosystem partners to visit (and nest in) our yard, and why do we want them there? Come learn about many of our native Texan bees, including mason bees, leaf cutter bees, and other gentle, solitary species we hope to attract. You’ll have the opportunity to make your own bee home to welcome these peaceful pollinators. After class, explore the Gardens at your leisure; registration includes general admission for the day.

Saturday, February 17 (10:00 – 11:30 am)

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, February 14

$45/Adult or $38/Member Adult

Materials: Provided

Instructor: Valerie Taber is a valued volunteer for the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. She enjoys sharing her expertise and spending time outdoors.

Location: Check-in at Botanic Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) Building – Park in Main Lot.

Inclement Weather Plan: This class takes place indoors, but due to the unpredictable nature of February weather, a back-up date the following Saturday (Feb 24) has been scheduled. Registrants will be notified the day before the scheduled class if the rain date (Feb 24) will be used.

**An email with class details will be sent to all registered guests the day after the registration deadline. To be sure our emails always make it to your inbox, please add the FWBG.org domain to your email whitelist. (Click here for a quick how-to)
