Instructor: Shelley S. Cramm loves to see the ancient words of Scripture come alive in today’s gardens. She is the author of devotions for God’s Word for Gardeners Bible (Grand Rapids, Mich., Zondervan, 2014) and writes the Devotions Blog at www.gardenindelight.com, a website she founded to further the practice of growing faith in the home garden and develop Bible plant design ideas. She writes freelance articles on plants of the Bible for today’s landscapes and speaks enthusiastically to garden clubs and faith groups about the connection of garden to table to Scripture to refreshing times in the Lord’s Presence.
Shelley’s work has been featured in special contributions to The Dallas Morning News, where she recently earned a Silver Award from 2019 GardenComm Media Awards for her Easter article, “These 5 trees take you on a biblical journey of grace and growth.”
Her background includes work in architectural and garden design, and leadership in local Bible study, prayer groups, Toastmasters International, and GardenComm: Garden Communicators International. She earned a Master of Architecture degree from University of Illinois at Chicago (1991) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Colorado, Boulder (1988).
Wife and mother of five children, Shelley’s inspiration to write and reveal the Gardener of the Bible grew out of a routine of morning journaling and an enduring hope to finish up the laundry and go out to her backyard garden and to dig and plant and play. Transplanted Californians, Shelley and her husband Topher have made their home in Irving, Texas, for over twenty years.
