Girls Nature Workshop: Orchid Kokedama
Together in partnership, the Fort Worth Garden Club (FWGC) and FWBG present the Girls Nature Workshops series! These hands-on programs connect girls and their families to the fascinating world of horticulture and floriculture. Each workshop highlights skills and activities designed to inspire the next generation of plant lovers and environmental stewards.
Although Girls Nature Workshops are not specifically designed to meet badge requirements, Girl Scouts are welcome to complete badge work through these programs. Please note: petals or badges are not available on-site; they can be purchased at the Girl Scout store or online.
This series is recommended for ages 7-12. Registration for this program includes general admission for the program date.
In this Girls Nature Workshop, participants will experience the ancient Japanese art form of Kokedama through hands-on learning! They will create a living moss-ball planter with a beautiful Phalaeonopsis orchid at the center. Then, they will tour the special Kokedama Forest exhibit.
Recommended learning level: 7-12
Saturday, November 16th (1:00 – 2:30 pm)
Registration deadline: November 14th
$12 /participant | $10 /member participant
$5 /adult | $0 /member adult
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Location: Check in at Garden Center- Park in main lot
Inclement Weather: This is scheduled indoors
