Girls Nature Workshop: Rainforests – The Earth’s Lungs
THIS EVENT IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT!
Together in partnership, the Fort Worth Garden Club (FWGC) and FWBG present the Girls Nature Workshops series! These hands-on programs connect girls and their families to the fascinating world of horticulture and floriculture. Each workshop highlights skills and activities designed to inspire the next generation of plant lovers and environmental stewards.
Although Girls Nature Workshops are not specifically designed to meet badge requirements, Girl Scouts are welcome to complete badge work through these programs. Please note: petals or badges are not available on-site; they can be purchased at the Girl Scout store or online.
This series is recommended for ages 7-12. Registration for this program includes general admission for the program date.
In this Girls Nature Workshop, participants will use rocks, wire, and beads to create an air plant holder to take home. They’ll also learn about epiphytes, a plant that grows on another plant (but is not parasitic!), like the numerous ferns, bromeliads, air plants, and orchids growing on tree trunks in tropical rainforests.
Recommended learning level: 7-12
Saturday, February 10th (1:00 – 2:30 pm)
Registration deadline: February 7th
$12 /participant | $10 /member participant
$5 /adult | $0 /member adult
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Location: Check in at Garden Center – Park in main lot
Inclement Weather: This is scheduled indoors
**An email with class details will be sent to all registered guests the day after the registration deadline. To be sure our emails always make it to your inbox, please add the FWBG.org domain to your email whitelist. (Click here for a quick how-to)
