Colorful Botanical acrylic painting

Blooming Acrylics Workshop

Registration for this class is now closed. We hope to see you for another Botanical Creative Arts class soon!

Join our exciting Blooming Acrylics Workshop and spend the day with Zan learning to capture the essence of flowers!

Please note – the image produced in this class will be the same as in the previous Summer Blooms Acrylic Workshop on June 10.

In the morning the emphasis will be on guided technique and encouragement to play with various tools, including a catalyst wedge in preparation for the afternoon. After lunch, Zan will be painting along with you, using the techniques you have practiced, to guide you step by step in the creation of your own unique painting. Geared toward the beginner and experienced painter alike, you will walk away empowered and excited to apply what you’ve learned!

Saturday, September 16 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

Registration Deadline: September 13

$120 /Non-Member or $100 /Member

Location: BRIT Building

Materials: Painting supplies will be provided. Please bring a bag lunch with you as our midday break will not be long enough to buy lunch out on town.

Instructor: Zan Savage has been enthralled with color, texture and design from the moment she received her first giant box of Crayola crayons but didn’t begin her formal studies in Art until many years later at UT Austin in the Fine Art Department. From there she married, had children and later received an Interdisciplinary Degree with honors from Tx Wesleyan University all the while continuing her engagement in the arts. During that time, she worked with several galleries selling her work, conducted clay, painting and drawing workshops, created and implemented a fine arts curriculum for a student population of over 500 young children, along with various other art endeavors. She also came to believe that everyone can learn to paint and for the last 10 years has conducted various art workshops across the DFW area. One of her greatest joys is being a part of the participants’ artistic journey.
