B.S. in Range and Wildlife Management, Texas Tech University
Dan Caudle is a native West Texan with a special interest in the native grasslands of the plains and prairies and the ecological drivers, natural disturbances, and plant community dynamics that are essential to their existence. He retired in 2006 after a 40-year career as a Rangeland Management Specialist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service with extensive work experience throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
He serves as an instructor for natural resource management training courses entitled “Working Effectively With Private Landowners.” He has coordinated and conducted those training courses in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Pennsylvania for new employees of the Natural Resources Conservation Service. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee for the Texas Grazing Lands Coalition.
Dan is also a Director of the weeklong Youth Range Workshop for high school students from throughout Texas held annually at the Texas Tech University Center in Junction, and Coordinator and Leader of a weeklong activity for the top participants at the previous Youth Range Workshop. The activity is “YRW2: A Deeper Dive Into Rangeland Ecology and Management” which is held annually on six ranches in North Central Texas. Both workshops are sponsored by the Texas Section Society for Range Management.
Caudle is currently working with landowners, college students, federal and state agencies, and other organizations on projects related to restoration, remediation, and long-term management of native grasslands.
