Group Volunteering
Don’t have enough time to volunteer regularly? Looking for a way to give back to your community while bonding with colleagues? Perhaps you are an educator in need of a tangible way to teach your students about botany. Regardless of your reason, we want to help your organization volunteer with us.
Most service projects involve gardening-related activities and are typically completed within a morning during the work week. These opportunities are offered to many interested community groups, such as schools, churches, and local businesses.
Requirements for Group Volunteers:
- All groups must be scheduled through the Volunteer Team at least one month in advance.
- We accept groups of up to 25 volunteers.
- Group coordinator will need to fill out the Group Volunteer Application.
- All volunteers will need to fill out a Liability Waiver prior to their arrival.
What to expect when your group arrives:
- Most volunteer projects involve outdoor work assisting our Horticulture Team, but we do have occasional openings for special events.
- Our typical volunteer times are weekdays from 9:00 – 12:00 PM. Let us know if you prefer a different day or time.
- We will notify you as soon as we are able if there are cancellations or if we need to reschedule due to unsafe weather conditions.
What do I bring with me?
- Please bring a copy of the Liability Waiver that was sent to you after submitting your Group Volunteer Application.
- Bring water, snacks, gloves, sun protection and anything you will need to be outside for up to 3-hours.
- Dress appropriately for the weather and the task! Please wear clothes that you are comfortable working outdoors in.
If you are a corporation wanting to volunteer at FWBG, please visit our Corporate Membership page for more details.
