BRIT Reads Book Club: Becoming Earth by Ferris Jabr

Do you love to read? Are you passionate about botany, natural history, sustainability and similar topics? Then, you’ll love the BRIT Reads Book Club! This informal group meets every other month to discuss a chosen book, in-person or online. We begin with a moderator summarizing the book and reviewing its key points. Then there is an opportunity for discussion—all are encouraged to share their perspectives and thoughts. You will leave with new information, new perspectives and new connections to others with shared interests. Don’t have time to read the book? No worries! Join us to hear the review and jump in on the discussion!

In June, we’ll discuss Ferris Jabr’s “Becoming Earth: How Our Planet Came to Life.” Critics call it, “Glorious . . . full of achingly beautiful passages, mind-bending conceptual twists, and wonderful characters. Jabr reveals how Earth has been profoundly, miraculously shaped by life.” Join us in-person or online.

Moderators: The BRIT Reads Book Club is hosted by the BRIT Library, and meetings are facilitated by a rotating series of moderators.  For more information, contact BRIT Librarian, Ana Nino, at anino@fwbg.org.
