Fort Worth Botanic Garden provides students and teachers with the unique opportunity to connect with nature in an outdoor educational setting. Whether you opt for a Self-Guided Field Trip, allowing your class to explore our stunning 110-acre campus at their own pace, or choose one of our Facilitated Field Trips with engaging Environmental STEM activities aligned with age-appropriate TEKS, your students are sure to have an unforgettable experience. Each field trip includes admission to the Garden, designated bus parking, and discounted rates for pre-paid registrations. Special discounts are also available for Title 1 schools, ensuring accessibility for all.

Becoming Butterflies Field Trip
Pre-K through 12th Grade | $10 per Student | $15 per Adult*
March 4th, 2025 – April 30th, 2025, Tuesday & Wednesday in 2-hour time slots starting at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
- A minimum of 15 participants to qualify
- Maximum group size 120 participants for 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. timeslot
- Maximum group size 60 participants for 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. timeslot
Explore the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Conservatory with live domestic butterflies while engaging in TEKS-based activities that encourage you to experience the world of the butterfly!
*Please note that all groups within the Conservatory will have a 1-hour time limit.
Self-Guided Field Trip
Kindergarten through 12th Grade | $5 per Student | $10 per Adult
Available year-round, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- A minimum of 15 participants to qualify
- Receive discounted admission rates and the freedom to explore at your own pace.
- Botanic Garden Educators will not be present during this experience.
STEM Challenges
Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade | $8 per Student | $10 per Adult
Available Thursdays – Fridays in 2-hour timeslots starting at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
- Maximum group size 100 participants
Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) topics through interactive activities related to the TEKS.
LEEDing the Way
Middle School & High School | $8 per Student | $10 per Adult
Available Thursdays- Fridays in 2-hour timeslots starting at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
- Maximum group size 100 participants
Students examine the role cultural, social, and economic factors play in the development of environmental solutions and how ecosystem biodiversity relates to our Texas Landscape through a guided tour, then put their new knowledge to work in an on-site Engineering Design Challenge.
Tranquil Traditions: Exploring the Japanese Garden
Kindergarten through 12th Grade | $8 per Student | $10 per Adult
Available Thursdays- Fridays in 2-hour timeslots starting at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
- Maximum group size 75 participants
Immerse your students in the culture of Japan while connecting with nature in the Japanese Garden! Students will spend one hour exploring the Japanese Garden with our trained docents, followed by an hour of three culturally immersive activities.
Spring 2025 Field Trip Registration

Final participant counts and payments are due two weeks before the visit date. Payments can be made by credit card, check, or purchase order.

Yes, discounted rates are offered for students from Title 1 schools.

Adults not included in the pre-paid registration will be charged the full admission fee on the day of the visit.

Yes, a minimum of one chaperone per ten students is required for safety reasons. Required chaperones are registered free of charge, though additional adults are charged a registration fee.

Yes, participant numbers can be adjusted during the registration process and must be finalized two weeks before the visit when payment is due.

Field trips are priced based on the number of participants. For groups of 20 or fewer, a flat fee is charged, determined by the type of field trip.
