Craig Meyer
Director of Press
Research & Collections
Craig Meyer began volunteering with the herbarium in 2021, joined the staff full-time in 2023, and became Director of Press in 2025.
Originally planning to study English, he instead fell in love with the interdisciplinary nature of Earth science after an introductory geology course. His academic work ranged from studying iceberg scours on the Antarctic seafloor to conducting ground-penetrating radar surveys along the Alabama coast.
Following graduate school, his career gradually shifted from geoscience into software development, Big Data, and project management. At BRIT Press, he brings that interdisciplinary background to developing connected publishing workflows, drawing on technology transfer from other industries and disciplines.
Outside of work, Craig enjoys classical music, tabletop role-playing games, and exploring personality frameworks such as the Enneagram.
