Orchid Collection
Working closely with the Fort Worth Orchid Society, the FWBG Orchid Collection promotes orchid conservation by protecting Orchis species at the greatest risk of extinction. The collection supports the Garden’s educational mission through orchid shows, workshops, and community outreach events.
The conservation priorities for this collection are New World orchid species at the greatest risk, followed by New World orchid species generally, and finally, primary and historic hybrids of cultural significance. While not available for public viewing, orchids from the collection are featured in special exhibitions, offering visitors a rare glimpse into the stunning diversity of these plants.
