Tai Chi Boatman Sticks: 6-Part Series

Discover Tai Chi – an ancient wellness practice incorporating physical movement, breath and mental focus which can improve balance, coordination, relaxation and mental clarity. Each series will feature a unique set of slow, low-impact movements, traditionally known as “forms”, that are designed to increase the flow of energy in the body. These movements are suitable for adults of all ages and fitness levels. You will practice your movements in a fun, no-judgement community of learners and leave empowered to continue your mind-body movements at home.

In Tai Chi – Boatman Sticks, you will learn forms that include handheld rods or “sticks.” These are used to focus the mind on the body and press and massage acupuncture points and are a fun tool to help beginners concentrate their attention.

Registration includes a series of 6 sessions. We cannot provide partial refunds for missed sessions.

Registration includes Garden admission for each class day. We encourage you to explore the Garden before and after class!

Location: Check-in at Botanical Research Institute of Texas / Park in main lot

Details: Please wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement and bring a 5-foot stick (broom handle or dowel).
