Starting June 30, the Café will be temporarily closed for renovations and will reopen this fall under new management.

Honey and Hive

Meet the bees and sample some sweet local honey in this introduction to natural beekeeping. Two local experts will explore why and how to build a mutually beneficial relationship with honeybees, using images and experiences from their own working hives. You’ll also get a taste of freshly harvested honeycomb and peek into a contained “observation hive” with live bees inside. You’ll leave with a new understanding and appreciation for the work of honeybees and their human hosts.

Discover how simple and satisfying it can be to make and can your own pasta sauce. We’ll work together to prepare a hearty, tomato-based sauce and safely preserve it using water-bath canning. Learn the fundamentals of safe home canning, including ingredient selection, proper acidity, and storage best practices, then take home new skills, recipes, and a small jar of delicious sauce to enjoy long after the harvest ends
