Girls Nature Workshop: Spice Up Your Life!
Together in partnership, the Fort Worth Garden Club (FWGC) and FWBG present the Girls Nature Workshops series! These hands-on programs connect girls and their families to the fascinating world of horticulture and floriculture. Each workshop highlights skills and activities designed to inspire the next generation of plant lovers and environmental stewards.
In this workshop, explore the plants behind your favorite flavors! Participants ages 7–13 will explore the fascinating world of spices as they discover where common kitchen favorites come from, how they are used, and how to identify the plants they come from. Guided by Joyce Block, Fort Worth Botanic Garden Rainforest Conservatory Curator, participants will create a festive citrus and cinnamon garland to take home and enjoy a fun scavenger hunt through the Conservatory.
Although Girls Nature Workshops are not specifically designed to meet badge requirements, Girl Scouts are welcome to complete badge work through these programs. Please note: petals or badges are not available on-site; they can be purchased at the Girl Scout store or online.
