Girls Nature Workshop: Do Plants Know Math?
Together in partnership, the Fort Worth Garden Club (FWGC) and FWBG present the Girls Nature Workshops series! These hands-on programs connect girls and their families to the fascinating world of horticulture and floriculture. Each workshop highlights skills and activities designed to inspire the next generation of plant lovers and environmental stewards.
In this Girls Nature Workshop, participants ages 7-12 will uncover the hidden beauty of plant patterns through an introduction to the Fibonacci sequence. They’ll explore how nature uses math to create spirals, branches, and other mesmerizing patterns, then craft their own biodegradable seed-paper hearts to take home!
Although Girls Nature Workshops are not specifically designed to meet badge requirements, Girl Scouts are welcome to complete badge work through these programs. Please note: petals or badges are not available on-site; they can be purchased at the Girl Scout store or online.
