Together in partnership, the Fort Worth Garden Club (FWGC) and FWBG present the Girls Nature Workshops series! These hands-on programs connect girls and their families to the fascinating world of horticulture and floriculture. Each workshop highlights skills and activities designed to inspire the next generation of plant lovers and environmental stewards.
In this workshop, discover a living link to the ancient past! Participants ages 7–13 will learn about the most primitive true flowering plant in evolutionary history, a remarkable species that has survived for more than 95 million years. Using its leaves, participants will create a festive poinsettia-inspired “blossom” to celebrate the holiday season and take home.
Although Girls Nature Workshops are not specifically designed to meet badge requirements, Girl Scouts are welcome to complete badge work through these programs. Please note: petals or badges are not available on-site; they can be purchased at the Girl Scout store or online.
