Free Activities: International Day of Play
Join the Fort Worth Botanic Garden for a special day of joyful exploration as we celebrate the United Nations International Day of Play with hands-on, child-led activities designed to spark imagination and creativity.
In partnership with fellow IPA USA members—Liink Center for Nature Play and Texas Children in Nature’s (TCiNN) Early Childhood Education Outdoor Learning Environment Network—we’re hosting a loose parts play event that invites children to engage with a variety of open-ended materials. From sticks, stones, and leaves to buckets, ramps, blocks, and hula hoops, these “loose parts” let children invent their own games, build freely, and discover through play.
Loose parts play encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking—giving children the freedom to choose how and where to play!
Partner organizations will also host nearby information tables to share resources and initiatives with families and interested guests and will be offering fun giveaways while supplies last.
Come celebrate the power of play in a beautiful outdoor setting and let your imagination run wild!
