¡Celebramos! A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden | Botanical Research Institute of Texas (FWBG|BRIT) invites guests to ¡CelebramosA Celebration of Hispanic Heritage, from September 15 through October 15, includes performances and exhibitions, dining and shopping opportunities, and more.

Guests will enjoy a presentation of Hispanic culture through art, native plants, and garden design throughout the entire campus. The celebration during Hispanic Heritage Month will feature numerous events, art exhibits, and unique new experiences for guests visiting the campus. Sept. 9 After Hours in the Garden- September  Please join us for the first Fall After Hours event, kicking off Hispanic Heritage month with ¡Celebramos!

Sept. 15 – “Flora of Latin America With works spanning back 300 years, “Flora of Latin America” features contemporary and historical depictions of plants native to the Latin American world.


Sept. 17 – Learn About La Herbolaria Fort Worth’s Blue Zones Project will teach about La Herbolaria, the application and practice of botanical material in medicine, and cultural practices.

Sept. 17 – Quinceañera Community Celebration Hosted by La Gran Plaza, learn about the history of Quinceañeras and view an introduction of multiple Quinceañera participants.

Sept. 20 – Ferns of Colombia: Stories from the field Join us as Dr. Vasco will share some of the ferns and stories from her team’s first expedition to Colombia.

Sept. 24-25 – Mariposa Market Enjoy the beauty of the Garden while shopping the wares of local Hispanic artisan vendors and enjoying family-friendly activities.

Sept. 24 – Latin American Festival The Fort Worth Botanic Garden offers the community a journey through the flavors, sights, and sounds of Latin America – all right here in the heart of Fort Worth. During this festival, experience musical entertainment by Latin Breeze Band, food flavors from Latin American food trucks, and vendors with authentic Hispanic wares on the garden grounds.

Oct. 1 – Dia de la Familia (Family Education Day) A day of family educational activities like piñata, storytimes, and more.

Oct. 1 – Family Movie Night, Featuring Disney’s EncantoSOLD OUT. Check out our next movie night happening Nov. 12! Join us in the Horseshoe Garden with your family and friends as we feature Disney’s Encanto!\

Oct. 4 – Lunchtime Lecture: Caribbean Urban Ethnobotanies in New York City
Join us as ethnobotanist Dr. Ina Vandebroek from the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica, shares her ethnobotanical research.

Oct. 4 – Blessing of the Animals
Join us at the garden for the second annual and universal Blessing of the Animals. Each animal will receive a special moment.
Oct. 8 – Fort Worth Opera Presents ¡Bienvenidos!
Oct. 15 – Fort Worth Opera Presents ¡Bienvenidos! Enjoy performances of “¡Bienvenidos!” by Fort Worth Opera.

Oct. 14 -After Hours in the Garden – October Enjoy the beauty of the Garden after hours! Unwind after a long week, bring your friends, bring a date! Relax with an adult beverage, delicious bites, and live music.

Oct. 15 – An Evening at Casa Azul
Visit our Leonard Courtyard, under the twinkling lights, where we have replicated parts of Frida Kahlo’s lifelong beloved home, La Casa Azul.
