Girls Nature Workshop: Framing the Urban Forest
Together in partnership, the Fort Worth Garden Club (FWGC) and FWBG present the Girls Nature Workshops series! These hands-on programs connect girls and their families to the fascinating world of horticulture and floriculture. Each workshop highlights skills and activities designed to inspire the next generation of plant lovers and environmental stewards.
Although Girls Nature Workshops are not specifically designed to meet badge requirements, Girl Scouts are welcome to complete badge work through these programs. Please note: petals or badges are not available on-site; they can be purchased at the Girl Scout store or online.
In this Girls Nature Workshop, participants will discover the powerful role trees play in keeping our communities healthy, cool, and beautiful. They’ll learn about the importance of growing and protecting the urban tree canopy, including Fort Worth’s goal to increase its canopy coverage to 30% by 2050. To celebrate and reflect on the value of trees, each participant will create an artistic framed tree collage to take home.
