September Lunchtime Lecture- Mushrooms: Facts and Fictions

“Mushrooms: Facts and Fictions

Presented by Dr. Denis Benjamin

Dr. Denis Benjamin, a resident research associate at BRIT focusing on mycology, will discuss many of the misconceptions and mythologies that have developed in the last few decades following the growing interest of the general public in mushrooms. This presentation will cover a variety of facets, including nutrition, cooking, edibility, dangers, medicinal uses, and others. He will answer such questions as, “Should I buy that wild mushroom in the grocery store, and if I do, how do I cook it?” or “Is that mushroom-laced coffee good for me?” “is touching a poisonous mushroom dangerous?”

This is a free hybrid seminar. Please join us in person in the Commons of the BRIT Building or virtually via the following link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82755024484.
