Dr. Denis Benjamin, a resident research associate at BRIT focusing on mycology, will discuss many of the misconceptions and mythologies that have developed in the last few decades following the growing interest of the general public in mushrooms. This presentation will cover a variety of facets, including nutrition, cooking, edibility, dangers, medicinal uses, and others. He will answer such questions as, “Should I buy that wild mushroom in the grocery store, and if I do, how do I cook it?” or “Is that mushroom-laced coffee good for me?” “is touching a poisonous mushroom dangerous?”
