Armchair Botany Forum – March Madness
This event has now passed. You can see a recording of this meeting on our Youtube: https://youtu.be/DtHcuUEE6V4
Our Armchair Botany events are forums for presentation and discussion about botany, herbarium specimens, and collections – and an invitation to get involved!
Join us on Thursday, March 9th at noon via Zoom for a casual discussion on some of the native carnivorous and parasitic plants in Texas and how our herbarium specimens of these species can aid in important research.
We’ll start off this forum by opening the floor for any comments and/or questions folks have about our current Crowdsourcing project. Then we’ll jump into the discussion about our main topic for the meeting. We’ll end with more Q&A and a guided “transcription blitz” where we’ll show you how to pull data from herbarium specimen images on your own time, to make your own discoveries and help us bring these collections to light. Please feel free to jump in, whether it’s your first or dozenth time! You can see more about the Armchair Botanist program here
