Forest Bathing: September

**In September, our Forest Bathing class will be September 7 since the Garden is celebrating ¡Celebramos! Opening Day Kickoff: Free Admission Day on the second Saturday.  We hope to see you there, too!

Forest Bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is the deliberate practice of immersion in nature using mindfulness and the senses. This practice originated in Japan and allows the body, mind and spirit to relax and rejuvenate surrounded by the healing powers of nature. We begin the class by discussing the guiding principles of shinrin-yoku that enable us to soak up the natural world around us; then each learner will enjoy individual time practicing their Forest Bathing in our tranquil Japanese Garden before reconvening to share experiences. Registration includes Garden admission for the day—we encourage you to explore the Garden before and after class..

Saturday, September 7, 2024 (9:00-10:30am) **Please note this is the first Saturday in September.

Registration closes September 4.

$20/Adult or $15/Member Adult

Materials: Bring a small seat cushion if desired.

Location: Check-in at the entrance to the Japanese Garden / Park in Lot D

Instructor: Randy Sabbagh is a Garden volunteer and a deep appreciator of the calming and healing effects of nature. He was introduced to shirin-yoku while living in Japan and is an enthusiastic practitioner who greatly enjoys introducing others to it.
