Calling all Art Adventurers! Olivia Garcia-Hassell, a.k.a. The OG Art Teacher, is bringing oil pastels to FWBG this July, August and September. These classes are appropriate for all ability levels and process-based, promoting enjoyment over perfection. Enjoy playing with art materials, learning new processes and having fun with Olivia’s open-ended, judgment-free style of art-making!

Wednesday, July 12 (6:00 – 8:00 pm)

Registration Deadline: Sunday, July 9

$35 /Non-Member or $30 /Member

Materials: Provided

Instructor: Olivia Garcia-Hassell uses the “handle” The OG Art Teacher and is an Amon Carter Community Artist. She has been teaching art to various ages and abilities since 2009 and thinks art is for everyone and anyone can create art. She believes that the process of creation is meditative, which is an excellent activity for our brains and hearts. She loves to paint with watercolors and draw in pencil. Her favorite subjects are animals, nature, portraits of people and pets, cars, horses, raccoons, dinosaurs, and anything someone can give her a reference photo for. Currently, she teaches private lessons to all ages and abilities while taking commissions for watercolors and drawings. She loves to take walks on the Trinity, in the Botanic Garden, at the Nature Center, around Benbrook Lake, on the trails of Gateway Park, and at Marion Samson Park. At home, she has loads of cacti, a dog, a rabbit, and a sulcata tortoise. Her art studio is in her garage, which is where she teaches virtual private art lessons and works on commissions. Connect with her at theogartteacher.com, via email at TheOGartTeacher@gmail.com or on social media @the_og_art_teacher.
