After Hours in the Garden – September

Please join us for the first Fall After Hours event, kicking off Hispanic Heritage month with ¡Celebramos! We are very excited to be highlighting local artist Miguel Martin, for the evening. Paper Mache artist and founder of La Kalaka, he is originally from Merida, Yucatán México and is co-owner of Colección Mexicana in Sundance Square. He and his artistry has been showcased on Telemundo Dallas, Telemundo 52 Los Angeles, Univision and NBC 5 DFW. His collection of Catrina’s are breathtaking, a documentary about them won Nancy Leal from NBC/Telemundo an Emmy in 2019. The intricacy of his sculptures is a sight to behold. The detail, depth and some personal family stories behind his original pieces will touch your heart. Each piece takes around four to five months to complete. His work is solid and well recognized around the Dallas Fort Worth and Texas. He has had the opportunity to showcase his Catrinas at the State Fair of Texas, The Pavilion at Sundance Square, Artes de la Rosa and many other art galleries in Dallas. Several pieces of his collection will be on view at the event.

Live performance by Trio Romance, a vocalist-romantic ensemble that will perform Trova Yucateca and songs from maestro Armando Manzanero, will certainly make an unforgettable evening.
