Bonsai Basics
 
Estella Flather, owner of Artistic Plants in Burleson, will facilitate a beginner-level bonsai class.  Participants will take home a small potted and styled bonsai.  Topics covered are:  bonsai history, types of trees, basic styles and bonsai care.   Participants should bring scissors and/or small pruners. The cost is $25, payable as you arrive for the class.  Call 817-295-0802 if you have questions.  This event is offered in conjunction with the Fort Worth Bonsai Society.

Spring Festival in the Japanese Garden
 
Enjoy the fresh brightness of the Spring color in the Japanese Garden while you and your family enjoy traditional Japanese dance, music, martial arts demonstrations, papermaking, and tea ceremonies. Admission: Adults $5.00, Children (4-12yrs.) $3.00, under 4 free.

A delight for all the senses, the Herb Festival fills the Botanic Garden Center with the wonderful aromas of live herbs. Beautiful displays of organic soaps, herbal concoctions, and a variety of tasty snacks are all awaiting you. Indulge! Admission is $5.00, children under 12 free.

Concerts in the Garden
 

 

Time to break out the picnic basket and relax under the stars while listening to great music provided by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and friends! Described as “Fort Worth’s best seasonal outing” (Star-Telegram), the 20th annual Concerts In The Garden Summer Music Festival offers 19 nights of outdoor concerts every weekend from May 28 through July 4. This series offers a variety of music for every taste, from Elvis to the Eagles to Tchaikovsky’s explosive 1812 Overture, plus fabulous fireworks every night and three nights of Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic on July 2, 3 and 4!

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Concerts begin at 8 p.m.

Lawn seating:
$16 in advance and $20 at the gate.
Children age 10 and younger admitted free on the lawn when accompanied by an adult.

Table seating for adults is $23-$43 in advance and $26-$46 at the gate. Children’s table tickets are $11-$43 in advance and $11-$46 at the gate.

MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC

With the Vocal Majority Chorus Sing out America and get ready for an extraordinary musical experience with this 100-plus all male chorus! Their majestic harmonies will delight you in a celebration of freedom with a repertoire of patriotic favorites including the “Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless the U.S.A.”

The M-80s are a rockin’ new wave band who will transport you back in time with your favorite ‘80s hits including “Just Like Heaven” by the Cure, “The Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats and “I Ran” by Flock of Seagulls. Don’t forget your parachute pants, Member’s Only jackets and crimped hair! The M-80s won’t.

‘CRAZY’ … FOR PATSY
A Tribute to Patsy Cline starring Julie Johnson
“I Fall to Pieces,” “Walkin’ After Midnight” and “Crazy” are just a few of the beloved songs made famous by singing legend Patsy Cline. Julie Johnson, who entertained thousands in multiple runs of the stage sensation Always, Patsy Cline, will take you back in time with her incredible concert tribute.
